Academics

At Carr Elementary School, academics are a top priority, and students are encouraged to lead and succeed both inside and outside the classroom. In 2023, the school exceeded academic growth expectations and met growth again in 2024. Carr students consistently perform well on End-of-Grade testing, showing a strong commitment to learning and achievement.

This summer, Carr earned recertification as a Lighthouse Leader in Me School — a prestigious recognition given to schools that build leadership in students, staff and families. Carr is one of only about 700 schools in the world to receive this honor.

Students have access to a wide range of academic and enrichment programs, including AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted), Math Masters, Battle of the Books and Robotics. These programs give students opportunities to challenge themselves and develop important skills in problem-solving and teamwork.

Beyond the classroom, students can take part in clubs such as Spanish, ukulele, chorus, art and the Student Leadership Club.

To join the Student Leadership Club, students must be recommended by a teacher and complete an application. Members help plan school activities and serve as positive role models for others.

At Carr Elementary, students are learning, growing and leading the way every day.
